When in the world?
In 2021, I started Our Little World Studio in Nashville, Indiana with my husband, Brian. However, our first little world was in Greenfield, Indiana from 2007 to 2013. It was a mini version of today with art classes, a gift shop and open studio (aka Make & Take) on the weekends.
Where in the world?
Our Little World Studio is in Nashville, Indiana, but I’ve traveled the world in my career buying, researching and providing creative direction for primarily a paper party company and a toy and party favor company. Both produced goods sold worldwide. I’ve been to China several times, Germany and many places across the US.
Why in the world?
I’ve loved every bit of my career and always wanted to do something of my own with my art and varied skill set. When my husband and I talked about what to do in retirement, I told him I’d like to work with him ( and Percy). I love working. He’s a saint and goes along with most of my crazy ideas (especially if Percy can come along). He’s a very talented craftsman. To be honest, I get credit for how this place looks, but he’s really the one with the keen eye. We used to say, ‘Dream, but don’t quit your day job’. I quit my day job this past July (2024). I could do my own art all day long or I could share what I know. I’d rather be teaching! To me, this is a magical place and a place I only once dreamed of.
